Solid upholstery, good construction. Should last a lifetime if used for home. Was exactly what I wanted for my home. Has spring loaded pull pins for fast adjustment and the option to screw them down so my kids can't pull them.

I received both the Powertec P-UB bench and the optional leg extension attachment as birthday gifts last month (I specifically asked for both) and really like them. They are both very well made and not particularly hard to put together.

The cushions on the bench and on the leg attachment feel very solid and well-made. The adjustabiliy of the bench is very convenient and my young daughter has no problem reconfiguring it.

All-in-all I am very impressed with both products.

I bought this from Amazon for $164 (with free shipping!) and it was a great investment. I was looking for the Bowflex SelectTech 3.1 bench to match my Bowflex dumbells, but after finding out it only had 3 incline positions I felt it was not a good deal for $150. The Powertech utility bench on the other hand, takes up less space and has more incline positions. The Powertech bench looks sleek and is very comparable to benches you see at the gym. The steel frame looks heavy duty and it should last a very long time.

FYI the picture shown here on Amazon is of an older revision of the bench - every other website I have found that sells it has a picture of the current version. From what I've read, there have been three versions of this bench over the years.

The bench is very adjustable and made up of good quality components - thick sheet metal tubes, solid fasteners, comfortable padding. It is definitely solid and can clearly handle a lot of weight, but the bench is a little wobbly side to side due to the play in the pivot points in the frame. But in practice it really isn't bad, I don't even notice it when my weight is on the bench and I'm doing presses or any of the exercises that I do.

Assembly instructions are just diagrams, and to do it right, you'll need to spend a few minutes matching up the fasteners with the numbers in the legend. It's not difficult, just don't skip this step and jump right into putting it together. If you're used to working on cars and reading factory service manuals, it's really easy. Took me about 15 minutes.

This bench combined with the power rack makes for a versatile home gym. You can use them together for presses, or move the bench out to do squats in the rack, or use the bench by itself for lots of exercises. Much better than a fixed rack/bench combo.

In addition to the incline adjustments on the seat and back pads, the base of the frame has an adjustment with two positions that moves the whole bench forward or rearward. This is for use in the rack, where you use the forward position with the bench flat or declined for normal bench press, or the rearward position with the bench inclined for shoulder/military press. The bench needs to be in the forward position to be stable for normal flat bench press. If you don't put the frame in the rearward position for military press, you won't be able to move the bench far enough back in the rack to reach the bar (too far behind your head).

This is not a cheap bench, so I was expecting greatness. Now I feel a little let down.

Pros: Adjustable, comfortable, and seems like it will hold up.

Cons:
1. The product I received is different than the product pictured on Amazon. Check Powertec's website. Powertec should have different models for their Utility benches. So far, I can find three distinctly different models of their P-UB bench (the one I got, the one pictured on Amazon, and the non-decline model).
2. The was some minor damage in shipping (a.) small tear in seat pad, b.) scratched frame)
3. The side handles (presumably for leg exercises) get in the way, but they are apparently optional.
4. The installation instructions are lacking. The assembly photos were "okay" - enough for me to follow but I could see were other people would have problems.
5. Usage instructions are non-existent. Completely. Why does the base of the bench have two positions? Should I always screw in the pin lock when using the bench? Is it okay to tighten the pre-assembled bolts to get rid of some of the wobble?

Overall, I do see myself using the bench without problems, but I am dissapointed in several aspects.

I just purchased this tread mill and have only used it once. My initial impression is that it is well made, fairly easy to assemble and gives you a good workout. I owned a Weslo manual tread mill previously and I also found that one to be well made and the belt moved very smoothly. My prior unit had a single very good sized fly wheel that kept the belt moving smoothly. This new unit has two flywheels each of which are smaller than my previous one but the effect is essentially the same - a fairly smooth walk without the severely jerky action of tread mills that have no flywheel(s) or undersized flywheel(s). This dual flywheel feature was very important to me. This unit is the replacement unit for the Cardiostride 2.0 that, according to the attendant, is a single flywheel unit. Additionally, the belt quality seems adequate and it comes pre-lubed. I ordered Weslo's lube kit at the same time to help keep the belt in good shape. Prior experience tells me that these belts are not cheap. The hand grips are comfortable and well placed. The base unit seems very sturdy to me (my wt. 160 lbs) but will look out for the "lack of alignment" and "creaking" with additional use as reported above. The belt moves with a reasonable amount of effort but the belt has no resistance controls. Tougher work outs are created by increasing the incline of the belt and this, by the way, is no easy adjustment. The base is difficult to hold steady to line up the pins. This, so far, is the worst feature of this unit. All in all, I am very pleased with what I see so far. I just purchased this unit (9/22/10) from Weslo for $100 with free shipping, and the lube kit was also on sale for around $13.00. I may write more once I get a few miles under my belt.

I'm not terribly happy with this treadmill. It is rather "stiff" and it takes considerably more work to get it rolling than I need. I am able to ride my exercycle for 45 mins straight and I dance for two hours straight every weekend so it's not MY fitness level. At 5'0" and 120-lbs, perhaps I am simply not heavy enough to force the belt to turn smoothly! Also, when I try to adjust the height of the platform one of the removeable pegs sticks AND it's incredibly difficult and frustrating to line-up the pegs once they are removed and you adjust the platform height. Overall, I am disappointed.

I got this Treadmill because of the price. My Weight 246. Live in Florida
Once I got everything together it worked great!! After about three weeks this treadmill started to creak.
Really BAD!!

What I found: the board under the belt had expanded and evertime I steped a very loud creak.

What I did: I removed the stick on trim creaking side (Mine right side) I used a skill saw to trim the board so it would not rub on the side frame.

Now, no creaks, works great, Love this treadmill..

I've only had the CardioStride Plus for about a week, but it is reasonably well made and gives you a really good workout. I'm trying to loose a few pounds, so I like to briskly walk for 1.5 miles in the morning and then while watching a movies. I'm using this treadmill to test my diligence to exercise on a treadmill. So far it has surpassed my expectation and maybe I'll keep this one for longer than expected. It definitely works you out more than a motorized treadmill since you are doing all the work.

Pros: Inexpensive, compact/light, simple, great workout for walking, easy set-up.

Cons: The bed creaks a bit while walking, so I have to turn up audio system pretty loud. The belt takes some adjusting to get and keep it centered and I find that when I move the treadmill, the belt often has to be re-centered. This is probably due to the very simple centering system and the fact that minor level changes in the floor will impact belt centering. You also need to keep your hands on the handles which will make reading somewhat difficult.

I've been using this tread mill for a little over a year now and have put over 650 miles on it. No problems with the machine. It really gives you a good work out. The belt still looks like new. I bought it to help control my diabetes and it works great for this. The control center opperates on 2 AAA batteries, which I have not replaced since owning it. I highly recommend it. I've owned an electric treadmill that cost me over $400. I didn't like it nearly as well as this one, and I think I sold it for about $100. With this one, if you decide not to use it (as many people do), you haven't lost much money if any. Hope this is useful.
